Getting here
Your visit begins before the climb.
Choose your arrival point around the places you want to see. The upper village and the areas below the hill call for different plans.
By car
Set a precise destination, preferably a permitted car park. From the Milan area, the general direction is towards Lecco and Cernusco Lombardone; check the current route, traffic and any restrictions before leaving.
Where to park
Pro Loco lists parking around Via Fontanile and Via degli Artigiani below the hill, and in the upper area around Cappelletta, Largo Agnesi and Butto. A listing does not guarantee a free space or access every day. Check signs, charges and current restrictions.
By train and public transport
Trenord’s S8 line serves Cernusco-Merate and Osnago. Neither station is the upper village: plan the final leg separately and check the day’s timetable. Confirm available bus connections and the right stop with the operator.
Shuttles and special dates
Shuttles may operate only on specified dates or in particular seasons. Spring 2026 information does not confirm an autumn service. Check for an announcement covering your travel date.
Before setting out
Check the weather, trail conditions and access to your chosen place. If you have mobility requirements, contact the destination to plan a suitable arrival: slopes and steps differ between routes.
From airports and other cities
When arriving at Milan Linate, Milan Malpensa or Bergamo, plan the final connection to Montevecchia. Distances and times depend on the starting point, precise destination and travel conditions.
